BOTTLETOP is sustainable fashion at its finest, the British luxury brand is renowned for its distinctive chain mail bags, crafted from recycled metal ring pulls. When co-founders Cameron Saul and Oliver Wayman launched BOTTLETOP they had a mission to empower people and our planet through sustainable design and creative culture. 

The journey began in Kenya making handbags from upcycled bottle tops and leather offcuts. Through this BOTTLETOP discovered the beauty and versatility of upcycled metal ring pulls and led to the creation of their signature chain mail fabric. After teaming up with Mulberry their bags became international bestsellers, seen on the arms of a diverse mix of celebrities from Emma Watson to Annie Lennox. As the desire and demand grew for these beautifully crafted accessories, BOTTLETOP was able to support and fund health education for young people in Africa. 

We saw the brand open their own ateliers in 2012 just outside Brazil, in Rio, São Paulo, and one in Nepal. The ateliers are staffed by local artisans who use their traditional crafting skills, learned on the BOTTLETOP training program to create luxury handbags. Additionally, the mostly female artisans are paid a fair wage and have access to private health benefits. The BOTTLETOP training programs allow these skilled artisans to join them, supporting themselves and their families in the process.
